A School Created For Our Children

Our program emerged as a partnership between a passionate parent and gifted teacher, and has since launched a movement.

Our school was conceived to serve our own children. Most of our teachers continue to send their children through our program today. As parents and educators, our work is our highest honor and responsibility.

Inessa Rifkin and Irina Khavinson fled the Soviet Union in search of a better life for their children. Together, they created a math education that mirrored their own - one of quality and depth. They would spark a movement.

It has been over twenty-six years since that first class was held at Ms. Rifkin's kitchen table outside of Boston, Massachusetts. Today, the grandchildren of RSM's founders and children of RSM alumni and teachers continue as students. Our commitment to the quality of our program means that RSM remains a family business. We do not franchise, and only open a new location once a gifted and experienced teacher becomes available to lead it. Today, RSM serves over 70,000 students across North America, and has been covered by the Boston Globe, TED, NPR, and the Atlantic.
